In A Rut

I wore these navy pants and grey jacket last week, but I was in a rush today so I pulled them out again and paired them with a different top. My office clothes are so boring! But I'm afraid of wearing something too crazy since I need to be "professional." Booo.

Style Idol

Ok, I'm launching a new topic - style idol. These will be people or characters whom we admire for their style, persona or creativity when it comes to fashion sense.

My first pick is the character Chuck from Pushing Daisies. It's such a cute show and I watched it today...though I heard rumors it might get canceled :(

Pushing-Daisies

I just love Chuck's outfits! It's colorful, sweet, vintage-y and fun. Since the plot line is slightly fantasy and the show is kinda stylized, her quirky outfits fit right in.

THIS IMAGE IS STRICTLY EMBARGOED UNTIL 00:01 6th APRIL 2008 Made by Warner Bros PUSHING DAISIES: Coming soon April 2008 on ITV1 Picture shows [L-R]: Chuck [Anna Friel] Picture caption: Once upon a time, a mild-mannered boy named Ned realized he could touch dead things and bring them back to life. Now a pie maker, Ned puts his ability to good use, not only touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor, but working with a private investigator to crack murder cases by asking the murdered to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, back from the dead and keeps her alive. Chuck encourages him to use his power to help others, instead of merely solving mysteries and collecting the rewards. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck, except for one cruel twist: If he ever touches her again, she'll go back to being dead, this time for good. thanks for the comment on wewearthings! I actually have my own blog, but it's not fashion. I'll probably drop a few more posts on this one until I run out of clothes haha

Hey Thao,

Nice work outfit -I think it looks better than the ones I used to see you in (sweater w/ black pants). I really like your pics of diff combos too - Fruchtzwerg's Island-ish.

It is hard to look professional & creative at the same time, especially for more conservative jobs! For my old job, I had no variety at all - black suit (or maybe grey or dark blue), some kind of tank top from TJMaxx/Marshalls, black shoes, EVERY SINGLE DAY. It was like a uniform - almost like Monk haha:)

The pink top gives a really nice POP to your outfit. I think creativty with work clothes is hard because a lot of the times I don't know what is deemed appropriate or not. I think people have different takes on what is "work appropriate?" But sigh, I think I sort of try. I'm wearing a dark purple sweater today with silver/metallic grey shoes (and black pinstripe pants). Even typing it out, it just sounds boring. haha. But I am feeling that my shoes may not really go with my outfit. Oh well. I am using a new handbag that I think looks fantastic with my purple sweater. I have to show it to you girls soon! Its a good new purchase.

Now I have to think of who my style idol is.....this might be difficult.
